I kind of went crazy in the picture department this trip...but the beach presents such picturesque views that I cannot resist and I had more time on my hands with cousins, Daddy, and Nanna to entertain my little ones. We arrived in Tybe Island late Friday night and stayed until Tuesday morning before heading back to the ATL. It was fun to see Charles Tucker experience the beach for the first time. He absolutely loved it!! We did a lot of running and playing on the beach, eating unique seafood, watching movies, sleeping, visiting historic forts, and just enjoyed being away from the normal routine of life. Even though vacations at this point in our life are not very relaxing, the change of scenery makes all the difference for a restful experience. It was nice not to have a house to clean or things to organize...I could just be when the kids were napping and busy playing. Thank you Nanna for making it possible for us to enjoy this beach trip every year!
On our way to the beach, the kids watched movies the whole way, so Dee and I were able to catch up, which was nice. During the middle of the trip, we stopped to let the kids run around at a field near to where we stopped for gas. Yes, I brought out my camera and took pictures at the gas station, but you would never know it...
until you see some cars in the background...
Don't you love that she has these boots on in the heat of summer? Something I picked up at the thrift store for $2.00. They do look pretty cute even though it is 90 degrees...

Now everyone wanted to be held....a common occurrence in our house...
And then we hit the road again...two more movies, two more bathroom stops, and one argument later, we reached our Mermaid beach cottage...
One hour later we hit the beach...Funny how the sun sets behind the houses instead of down the beach. I am used to the beaches of the Gulf, not the Atlantic. The sky was beautiful nonetheless...
So neat to see Charles Tucker's first reaction to the ocean....
He kept saying..."Big lake. Big lake."
I think he was a little scared at first, but he quickly warmed up...

Cousin Dexter just fits into the mess of my three kids, so it made for a fairly enjoyable beach trip while the four kids played together....kind of crazy, but that is nothing new in my world...

While Dexter was more interested in finding shells and collecting sand, I don't blame him... He looked at them like they had lost it!
Our night ended with all four big cousins in the tub...
