Often we think God's will as "What does God have for me in the future?" Well, God has been teaching me that his will is week by week, day by day, moment by moment. It is a constant reliance on our savior. God's will is reading God's word or listening to the Holy Spirit guided you everyday. I am not sure what the future holds, but I am sure that God has me right here, right now for a reason. He wants me to be in the moment and trust him for my every breath. God's will is trusting him when your kids are breaking down from being in the house for two days in the snow with no husband. God's will is asking God to comfort you when you are feeling down on yourself and all you want to do is eat chocolate and look for things on the internet to buy. God's will is doing as much as you can with two kids, but laying the rest of the"To Do List" down at his feet until the next day or the next! God's will is praying for the person you have seen three times in a week by accident. Maybe God wants to use you in that persons life. There is so much joy in trusting God moment by moment. I do not claim to do this well at all. I am one of the worst, but God has been revealing my sin in this area and giving me "little victories" that I am truly thankful for. I pray that we all seek him daily so we will know his will and find true joy!
My dad sent this quote to me through email. I love this! It is from January 6th of "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. The devotion is written like Jesus is talking directly to us.
I am able to do far beyond all that you ask or imagine. Come to Me with positive expectations, knowing that there is no limit to what I can accomplish. Ask My Spirit to control your mind, so that you can think great thoughts of Me. Do not be discouraged by the fact that many of your prayers are yet unanswered. Time is a trainer, teaching you to wait upon Me, to trust Me in the dark. The more extreme your circumstances, the more likely you are to see My Power and Glory at work in the situation. Instead of letting difficulties draw you into worrying, try to view them as setting the scene for My glorious intervention. Keep your eyes and your mind wide open to all that I am doing in your life.
