A day with the Curly Girlies and a welcome home celebration!

Yesterday we played at the Dekalb Airport playground with the curly girlies and some friends from church. What a great place to have a play date! They have a large playground with a rubber surface, picnic tables, and not to mention the many airplanes that take off and land consistently right before their eyes! It's child heaven!! And fall might be the best time to go, the weather was perfect...70 degrees!

Elie, Mollie, Mary Taylor, and Henry...."Look M.T.!!!"

Can't believe I got them all to look at the camera and they are actually smiling!! These children are definitely four peas in a pod...as strong willed as they come!!! Their a lot of fun too!

Then we managed to get Thompson in a picture with these crazy kiddos. He belongs to Ashley over at The Family Monk. She is also expecting another one in the spring!

After we left the park we went home for naps to get geared up for Daddy Doug's homecoming after being in the hospital for a two and half weeks recovering from his fork lift accident (yes, I spelled it correctly...right? I really thought it was a "fork cliff"...that's the way you say it..thanks to all for letting me know the error of my ways) The curly girls were thrilled to know their daddy was coming home!! We all made signs and cards to welcome him home. Several of our friends from church were at their house to support his homecoming!

Henry and Sam having a blast...of course Henry got too rough at the end, but I guess that is to be expected with wild boys. Right? Sorry Amber!

And there's Mommy Jenna pulling up...

We are all so glad Doug has recovered so well after his accident. An accident that is in the will of God for Doug's life. The Lord will turn what is horrible in the world's eyes, to something beautiful that the he can only orchestrate. I am anxious and excited to see how the Lord is going to redeem this situation for good....he already has in so many ways.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
       declares the LORD.

"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

As the rain and the snow
       come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
       without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

You will go out in joy
       and be led forth in peace;
       the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
       will clap their hands.

Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the LORD's renown,
       for an everlasting sign,
       which will not be destroyed."
