I am feeling inspired to catch up on the last six months through pictures on my blog. Today, I am going to start with Mary Taylor's 3rd Birthday Party last November 25th, 2011. We had a princess party for her and 10 of her best girl friends, along with her two brothers. All the little girls came dressed in their favorite princess attire to enjoy being a princess for the day! Little girl birthday parties are so different than a party for a bunch of rowdy boys. Boys just kind of entertain themselves with swords while running around the backyard, but little girls take time to warm up and need guided crafts and activities. It was funny to see the contrast!
The Frog Prince was preparing for the big birthday the next day!
We made Henry a prince crown for his costume...
Mary Taylor was trying on her new little mermaid princess wedding dress to possibly wear for the next day.

She was so excited to see all of her favorite princesses arrive to the party...
Charles Tucker was not thrilled about wearing the frog prince costume when the princesses started to arrive...the hat soon came off.

When the princesses arrived they each colored a princess picture...
I was going to give a prize for the best picture, but I realized I might have a lot of crying on my hands, so I decided to give everyone a piece of candy to prevent any hurt feelings...which started my realization that girls are different than boys...
Emily, one of Mary Taylor's favorite people was so gracious to not only stay the whole party, but also make princesses crown cookies and help with all the princess activities, she even read Beauty and the Beast for story time...(See below for more about her cookies)
The second activity was pass the poisonous apple adapted from "hot potato". I was going to make each girl be out when they had the apple when the music stopped, but then I realized that probably would not go so well, so I just let everyone have a turn holding the apple when the music stopped and gave them each a piece of candy...could not bring myself it to make it a competition...realizing again, how different males and females are at this age.
Of course Henry was sitting outside the game driving Elie crazy...but I think she secretly liked it!
Then we played "pin the kiss on the frog," which is the same as "pin the tail on the donkey."

Then it was time to have our princesses tea party birthday celebration!
Each princesses had a place setting with her name on it along with a princesses wand, ring, and crown to complete her princesses attire.
We served several princesses themed tea party food for the princesses...
Creme cheese and peanut butter and jelly princesses crown sandwiches seemed to be a hit!
Princess fruit wands...
Hummus and crackers, along with chicken salad, nuts, white mint chocolate, popcorn, cheese straws and...
Princess cupcakes...
To drink we had pink princesses milk and pink lemonade...
Oh and I almost forgot about Emily's famous cookies...She made princess crown cookies monogrammed with Mary Taylor's initials on them. Mary Taylor was so excited about Emily's cookies!! Emily started her own cookie business called, Cookie in the Kitchen. She is a fabulous baker and her sister helps with the artwork on top. They are a very talented team and you have to go HERE and ask her to make you some of her super yummy chocolate chip cookies!!
I think all of the princesses enjoyed their tea party...

I love you Mary Taylor!! You are a joy, a treasure, and a true gift from God. As the days go by, I am convinced more and more that you are my little clone. I can't wait to continue to get to know who you truly are as the years go by. Love you pretty pretty!
