Last night as I was checking the Ugandan Adoption FB support group, I noticed a news article that just came out about a terrorist attack in Kampala, Uganda late Sunday night. Kampala is where we will be going to pick up our child. Wow, was I shocked! The bombs went off 25 minutes apart, first at an Ethiopian restaurant and then at the rugby club where people were watching the World Cup. About 74 people are reported dead including one American. This is just so terrible!

The American who was killed was working for Invisible Children. An organization to help free child soldiers in Northern Uganda. He was watching the world cup with some of the Ugandan children he had been ministering to. Read the tribute to Nate Henn on the Invisible Children's blog.

Or let them hear and say, “It is truth.”
10 “ You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,
“ And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD,
And besides Me there is no savior.
12 I have declared and saved,
I have proclaimed,
And there was no foreign god among you;
Therefore you are My witnesses,”

13 Indeed before the day was, I am He;
And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand;
I work, and who will reverse it?”

And bring them all down as fugitives—

The army and the power

After Dee and I read the article, we instantly thought, oh no, how is this going to impact our travel dates? When will be able to see our future son? Oh, no this will never happen. The rest of the night I worried about our sweet child who will be without a family for even longer. Finally the Lord calmed me down and gave me peace and I was able to go to sleep...today Amy sent me this email to encourage us to know that the Lord is God and he is in control."Nate’s life ended while living out this dream, a selfless dream of putting others first, seeking peace, and living a life of integrity. He will be forever missed, forever remembered, and his legacy will live on in our love and deeds."

I thought of you as soon as I heard!! I was supposed to go to Uganda and ET a week from today with Visiting Orphans. I was all signed up in January but then felt I should back out of it because of Lydia and not wanting to leave her yet and also my husband returns from Israel on Saturday and I would be leaving two days later. It all seemed too much for me at this time. Then I found out I am pregnant so that confirmed things even more. I am hoping that the team will still be allowed to travel there and be able to minister to the hurting.
